Find truck parking on highways
The purpose of this app is to try to counteract the daily lack of parking spaces for truck drivers on German highways by allowing drivers to coordinate with each other and thus making the current parking situation in their area transparent. The app manages all known parking and rest areas on motorways in the Federal Republic of Germany (these can also be expanded by users - e.g. rest areas on federal highways).
Explanation:
- The driver starts the app (internet connection must be established).
- Now the driver indicates his current location (either by directly entering the coordinates/address or he has his location determined automatically => GPS must be activated for this).
- Then select >search< and wait. All available rest areas near the driver are now searched for and their distance as well as the number of parking spaces currently available are displayed. The selected route is also displayed below via Google Maps and is thus again graphically highlighted.
- The driver can now choose to park in this parking space if the parking space is already full or, for example, there are more parking spaces available than indicated. This means that the number of parking spaces for the selected parking space is kept up to date.
- The whole thing would of course work best if all drivers used this system, as this is the only way to ensure that the available parking spaces actually correspond to reality. In this case, the drivers could coordinate and this would ensure that everyone gets a parking space nearby.
